Details, Details, Details

I always tell my students that the more they pay attention to the details, the better chance they have of getting a problem correct.  Over the past few weeks I have needed to listen to my own advice.  :)  After filling out different documents (one was even in German), getting extra copies of other documents, and making sure that I didn't forget to send anything in for my visa I have definitely seen the necessity of paying attention to the details.  The same applies to paying attention to the little details God shows us everyday.  Sometimes we forget the little things that God has given to us.  It might be as simple as a quick commute in the morning or a bird singing a beautiful song in the morning or even a smile from someone.  Each day God gives us little gifts that can sometimes only be seen in the little details.  I can't help but think of James 1:17, "Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows."  What a wonderful God we serve!

Changes

Over the past few weeks I have been reflecting more and more on the changes that will be occurring soon.  In less than 3 months, my life will be completely different.  My home, job, and the food I normally eat will all change.  Even my time zone will be vastly different (Vienna is currently 9 hours ahead of Cali time).  I won't have the same access to my friends and family that I normally do.  Even with all of these changes, while some may be very difficult, I know that God has His plan for my life.  Over the years He has taught me through different difficult and/or painful experiences that His ultimate plan is the best for me.  I may not understand His reasoning for certain situations, but after reflecting back (sometimes years later), I am able to see that the Lord provides those situations to help me grow and become a better Christian.  For many years I had "MY plan," but God began showing me a few years ago that "MY plan" isn't always as good as HIS plan.  It doesn't mean that His plan is easy, but I've learned that it is the best plan.  Knowing this gives the confidence and encouragement I need in order to experience new changes, both difficult and fun, and grow from them.

VCS Update:
I've spoken with both John (Elementary Principal) and Nels (Secondary Principal) from VCS and I've been given a little update on different things that are happening at the school.  First, it looks like I will be teaching either 4th or 5th grade.  I have taught both before and I am very comfortable with either grade level.  Secondly, VCS's name will be changing from Vienna Christian School to the International Christian School of Vienna.  This change won't take place for a while, but I thought you might like know.  Third, we are currently working on receiving the visa and residency permits needed.  The process is going well!  I'll let you know more details once I find out more.

Support Update:
God is amazing!!!  Support raising was always a worry of mine, but He has been providing in amazing ways.  I am still in need of several monthly supporters, but I know that God has His plan and He always works it out in the end.
